We heard from physician feedback that high, episodic payments for continuing certification activities were burdensome, so we have introduced an annual fee with lower, spread-out payments. All physicians in a 5-year certification cycle have an annual fee.
How does this affect me?
How many years is your current ABEM certificate valid for?
10 Years
The activity fee for each module is $400. When you renew your certificate, you will move to a 5-year cycle and an annual fee that covers the cost of modules.

No more activity fees! Your annual fee covers the cost of modules and continuing certification activities. The annual fee is $320 for one certification and $230 if you hold a second certification through ABEM.Â
