MySonoCert — Maintain Your AEMUS Designation

ABEM and the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS) Exam Committee have been working to develop the continuing certification process for the AEMUS Focused Practice Designation (FPD). MySonoCert, a module-based process similar to Emergency Medicine’s MyEMCert, will launch in 2025 for physicians to maintain their AEMUS FPD.

ABEM supports physicians who have achieved the AEMUS FPD and their commitment to continual learning. Similar to EM, EMS, and MedTox, AEMUS continuing certification will be on a five-year cycle with an annual fee. Physicians with an AEMUS FPD will have the following requirements to maintain their designation every five years:

  • Pass 3 MySonoCert Modules
  • Attest to continued AEMUS practice
  • Maintain EM Certification

Core elements of MySonoCert include:

✔    Topic-specific modules

✔    Open-book modules that can be completed anywhere, anytime

✔    Immediate feedback pass/fail results, correct answers, and rationales

✔    Content that keeps you informed about advances in ultrasonography

More details coming soon!
