We are honored to announce Earl J. Reisdorff, M.D., Executive Director of the American Board of Emergency (ABEM) recently received the James D. Mills Outstanding Contribution to Emergency Medicine Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians. The award is presented to active, life, or honorary members for significant contributions to emergency medicine.
Dr. Reisdorff attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Reisdorff is board certified by ABEM and has served as the Executive Director of ABEM for the past 15 years. Dr. Reisdorff has numerous accomplishments that led to this achievement.
Some of his accomplishments include:
- Authoring multiple peer-reviewed articles
- Authoring 17 chapters in eight different texts
- Co-editing two key textbooks – Emergency Radiology and Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- Presenting more than 500 scientific and didactic presentations in the United States and internationally
- Appointed by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to the Council on Graduate Medical Education, an advisory group to both DHHS and the Congress on physician workforce and training
- Leading as a program director and a designated institution official and has led a multi-institutional Graduate Medicine Education Consortium
